Description

Ribeye steak, with its rich marbling and succulent flavor, is a culinary delight that elevates any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ribeye steak (about 1 inch thick, approx. 16 oz)

  • 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Fresh herbs (1 sprig each of thyme and rosemary)

Instructions

  1. Remove ribeye from the fridge and let it sit for 30 minutes to reach room temperature.
  2. Pat the steak dry, then generously season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat until smoking hot.
  4. Lightly coat the grill or skillet with olive oil before placing the steak down.
  5. Sear the ribeye undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes to create a nice crust.
  6. Flip the steak, add butter and fresh herbs into the pan, continuously basting while cooking for another 4-5 minutes or until desired doneness is achieved.

Keywords: For an added flavor twist, try seasoning with smoked paprika or garlic powder. Letting the ribeye rest after cooking ensures juices redistribute for maximum tenderness. Use a meat thermometer to accurately check doneness: medium-rare should register at 130Β°F.
