Description

Crispy, gooey, and utterly delicious, these homemade mozzarella cheese sticks are the perfect appetizer or snack for any occasion. With a golden panko crust and stretchy cheese center, every bite is an irresistible blend of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 string cheese sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Oil for frying (about 2 cups)

Instructions

  1. Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with garlic powder and Italian seasoning, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
  2. Lightly coat each string cheese stick in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then roll in panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  3. Place the coated cheese sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat to 350°F. Fry cheese sticks in small batches for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara sauce or ranch dressing.
