- 9 oven-ready lasagna noodles
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (chopped)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onions and minced garlic until golden brown.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce, salt, and pepper.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, salt, pepper, and half of the chopped basil until smooth.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese, and more meat sauce. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
