  • 9 oven-ready lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onions and minced garlic until golden brown.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, salt, pepper, and half of the chopped basil until smooth.
  5. In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese, and more meat sauce. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  6. Top with remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
